Diet tips by Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput shares his flexible workout routine and  ‘shuddh’ diet fundas

My secret for a fit body: I don’t have a perfect body but I am trained in dance and martial arts which keep me fit.

My fitness philosophy: Right now, all my decisions with respect to my body depend on the projects I am doing. I can gain or lose weight, thanks to different kind of training programmes.

I love training: My abs, my core.

I hate training: My legs.

My diet: For Kai Po Che, I had more proteins and fewer carbohydratess: the ratio was 2:1. Currently, it’s more of a carbohydrate-heavy diet with less of protein intake. For my forthcoming film, Byomkesh Bakshi, the protein intake will be even lesser.

I chose these diets because:
I was very ripped in Kai Po Che for which I was aiming for a fit body and not a bulky look. But for Shuddh Desi Romance, in which I am playing a very normal guy who does not go to the gym at all, I stopped my workouts and I gained weight! While I was 74 kg in Kai Po Che, I was 79 kgs in Shuddh Desi Romance. Now for Byomkesh Bakshi I have to lose at least seven to eight kgs.

The best compliment I have received for my body: I haven’t received yet.

My personal trainer: Praveen. He is very good at his work.

My take on relationship between fitness and health:
Both are very important. It’s very important to be fit no matter what character you play. If you are not healthy, you can’t claim to be fit.

The Bollywood actress with the fittest body: Bipasha Basu.

The Bollywood actor with the fittest body: Vidyut Jamwal.

A piece of advice for aspiring fitness freaks: Don’t crash diet. Your diet is very important. Stay fit, stay healthy and don’t smoke.
